Preparing students to become global leaders and practitioners who transform communities

NCCU

North Carolina Central University was chartered in 1909 and opened its doors to students in 1910 as the National Religious Training School and Chautauqua. Dr. James E. Shepard, the founder, served as the President of the institution from its founding until his death in 1947. The mission of the University is to prepare students academically and professionally, and to promote consciousness of social responsibility and dedication to the advancement of the general welfare of the people of North Carolina, the United States, and the world. Since its beginning, North Carolina Central University has declared its purpose to be the development of students’ character and academic training for real service to the nation. As an aspiring chapter, we desire to gain the competitive edge by developing competent and aggressive business leadership. Phi Beta Lambda strives to strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work by fostering school pride and loyalty.

It is our belief that our business and professional skills will continue to be heard in order to mold the best future business leaders possible.
